Cybera is an Alberta-based organization driving innovation and investment in cyberinfrastructure technologies for research and business applications. For this event, Cybera partnered with CANARIE, Canada’s advanced network organization, to host a National Summit to explore the ways advanced networks, network-enabled platforms, cloud computing, and other emerging technologies are changing the ways we perform research and and conduct business.

This panel discussed some of the business challenges of launching, managing and doing business in the cloud. This session showcased the ultra-high bandwidth connection between CANARIE, Canada’s Advanced Research and Innovation Network, and CENIC, the California State Education Network. Presenters demonstrated how cyberinfrastructure (CI) is helping to bring together brilliant minds and innovation resources from California and Canada and open up new R&D possibilities that promise to deliver economic and social benefits to both jurisdictions.
